About Us

Hi everyone! We're excited to share our little story with all of you. We met online in late 2020 and began dating in January 2021, when the world was emerging from the shadows of Covid. Conversation was easy and we bonded over our mutual love for exploring the world around us through food and travel. The early part of getting to know each other involved weekend trips to Raleigh for Caitlin (living near Washington DC) or DC for me (since I lived in Raleigh). We got to know each other better and love blossomed. In May 2022, Caitlin moved in with me and our house became a home. Our first domestic trip together was traversing the serene wilderness of Alaska, while our first international trip involved exploring the history and culture of Italy and the gorgeous Mediterranean landscapes of Malta. We kept our love for travel going with a trip to scenic Iceland and Vancouver, Canada, and later Banff, Canada with my parents and sister. Since then we've made it a point to  undertake a slew of domestic trips together, including to Vermont with Caitlin's Mom and Grandfather.

 

Our families finally met when we celebrated Christmas 2022 together in the Poconos. It was also the first time most of Caitlin's family had butter chicken and channa masala, and the first time my family had a traditional Christmas dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, and more. From those joyous times, we've weathered some challenges together since, when Caitlin's miniature schnauzer Nigel crossed the rainbow bridge, followed by the tragic passing of her dad Garth (who was a gentle loving giant at 6'5 compared to my wee 5'7 frame).  Our life changed for the better when our little angel doggie Mowgli entered our lives in April 2024. He's been a bundle of joy and has helped strengthen our relationship. He has also tested our will-power when he stares at us with expectant puppy eyes begging to have Indian sweets made by my mom, or a chicken nugget.  More recently, we took a trip to India (Caitlin's first time there) to explore history and meet my extended family. It was a wonderful trip! We're hoping the good times keep rolling as we begin the next chapter of our journey with these sacred vows, and we wish to see you, our loved ones, in Mexico to share in these blissful moments and memories for a lifetime!
